My 2012

Family
I've spent alot time at home, but largely focused on the things I want to accomplish and the things I like to do. But the year end allowed for more eating, cooking and family activities.

Travelling
Last year, I've been on four trips - definitely an unforgettable year. This year we had gone to Seoul & Jeju, finally. It was amazing that all these years we hadn't been there yet.

Interestingly the most memorable parts of the trip were largely food, as well as the near-typhoon of course. Food was never that big a part of our trip, but there seems to be an endless list of food/food places that I/we want to go. And the plan is to be back there again, this time round for more days (of eating). I'm already anticipating and waiting for it.

Work
I was hoping that I would be in time to write about this. As I've arrived at the end of this year, I'm also almost at the end of this journey. This actually mirrors what I faced the end of the previous year in some ways - but this time round, I am at the end of this journey of 6 years and 7 months. After three rotations, I will look back with satisfaction and affection for the time I had in the organisation. I've given my best and regardless of whether the sadness was self-created, it was a bittersweet year end chocked full of farewells again. Thank you for the ups and downs, the pleasants and less perfect moments, the friendships and the forgotten (that I cannot go back in time to change), for all the blessings that I've gotten especially as I bid farewell. I am once again reminded of the times I had with the organisation as I go about making the various adjustments and arrangements as I leave - more interconnected that I imagined. With anticipation, I look ahead.

Random little things
I hadn't had much random little things to do, mainly because I was focused on work and shifting, as well as personal goal which will take up a large share of commitment. I look forward to do more activities as I balance the need to live for the future, and to live for today. I've also jus started on brisk walking, and amazingly managed to serve homecooked german pork knuckles. I'm going to have another favourite playlist again - songs from Reply1997, and I'm picking up more korean words as well. 2013 Let's start all over again; let's continue; and let's achieve what's important & happy.

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

It isn't about the date because 11 December 2012 will soon lose its significance, and even 6 years 7 months; but rather the journey. Yet even the journey, a pessimistic (or realistic?) opinion is that the more distant the memories become, the higher the probability of it losing its significance as well.

But, even if the feeling of saddness will soon be distant, the existence of it cannot be argued. With a heavy heart, tears overwhelmed on the few occassions today, that perhaps with time everything will become a distant. That perhaps with time, everything is relative.

Yet at the same time, with a heavy heart there came some relief.

The journey to the end has began.
